See as many properties that you need to in order to feel comfortable and confident that you have thought through what you want and what you need, and that you feel educated on the community and the current real estate market there. While you want to be thoughtful and careful in your decision, it is a home as well as an asset. Being excited about the place that you choose is also something that helps you know you are making the right decision.
